Erica Wilens Erica is a musical theater performer and opera singer based in San Diego. She received a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice and a Bachelor of Arts in French from California State University Sacramento, having completed part of her degrees at the University of Paris Vincennes-Saint-Denis. She received a Master of Music degree from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University in 2015 (where she met Haley!). She has studied and performed across the US, as well as in France, Spain, Italy, Israel, and Canada. Erica has loved teaching music since she started her first studio in 2010, where she taught musical theater students at her high school alma mater. She loves to discover each individual student’s strengths and find ways to showcase them through their lessons and performances. Currently, Erica is an active musical theater and straight theater performer. Some favorite roles include Marian the Librarian (The Music Man), Sister Robert Anne (Nunsense), Diana (Lend Me a Tenor), and Despina (Cosi fan tutte). Her most favorite role, however, was portraying the diva Estelle Étoille while she was part of the all-female improv opera company Forte Chicago. Erica loves utilizing the skills she learned as an improv artist to help her students let go of inhibitions and do what they love: sing!
